Edwin D. Foulks Sr., 86, died unexpectedly February 6, 2006 at his Lisle home. His parents were William S. Foulks Sr. (died 1968-Columbiana Co., Ohio, attorney for fifty years) and Minabelle Foulks (died 1979-Latin and History teacher). His wife was Betty Gray Foulks (died 1971 at Lisle and in May of 1938 was chosen by Walter Winchell "as Washington's prettiest Government Girl"). He is survived by his brother, William S. Foulks Jr. (Physical Chemist near Cleveland, Ohio); his sister, Martha F. Binsley near Los Angeles, Calif.; and his Lisle residence children, Edwin D. Foulks Jr. (BS Geophysics-BU) and Edith M. Foulks (BA Music and Anthropology-BU). As a research physicist and inventor, he first received a Psychology BA before his World War II Naval Lieutenant Service. Afterwards he also received a Physics MS Degree (Ohio State University) which began his career. His major invention achievements: 1938 intermittently firing rocket (1943 patent), assistance in design and construction of first nuclear reactor, 1950's flying saucer, high resolution radar, missile guidance systems and a GAF patent for a laser cutting system. Research with his brother, William discovered how all thoughts and acts can be recorded through neutrinos. Edwin's historic ancestors: Charles Morgan (1743-1808) who surveyed the Ohio River (1770) with George Washington, settled near Pittsburgh (1772), managed Washington's Pittsburgh area lands during his presidency and was a Republican chairman (1806). William Foulks (1770-1833) married Charles Morgan's daughter, Elizabeth about 1790, was an early settler (1792) in Beaver Co., Pa. and Ohio (1800-Calcutta: once "Foulkstown") and was an Ohio assemblyman (1811-1819).
