Fred Carver Obituary
Fred Floyd Carver, 90, passed away peacefully at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford with his family in attendance on April 19, 2014 following declining health. He was predeceased by his son Fred C. Carver, his parents Charles G. Carver & Nancy May Livingston; his brother George C & Fanny Carver and sister Esther May Carver & William Bull and two nieces Esther May Bihunick and Dorothy Berube. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elma McCall and their children Judith (Robert) Arnold and Robert P. & (Laurie) Carver; grandchildren Brad (Jayne) Arnold, Jeannette (Scott) Farr, Chase (Brittany) and Amy Carver, Benjamin (Erica) Carver and great grandchildren Abigail, Hannah, Maryssa, Kallie, Austin, Everly. Several nieces and nephews survive in NY, PA, NC and Ohio. He was a 2nd Lieutenant, B-17 pilot in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He was a past commander of George F. Riordan Post 974 American Legion. He built two houses for his family. He had a television repair business in Whitney Pt and retired after 27 years at Singer-Link Aviation where he received three patents for simulation electrical design. His determined ingenuity continued in his final days. He was secretary of the Senior Golf League at Ford Hill for many years and secretary of the Homeowners Assn at Twin Palms Park, Fl. He enjoyed bowling and shuffleboard winning several trophies over 23 years in Lakeland, FL. The family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care he received from all the staff at the Veterans Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of one's choice. Alma and family, my condolences for your loss. I spent many happy hours with Fred, both on and off the golf course. He helped me to learn about the computer. We were partners for several seasons in the Senior league at Ford Hill and with the couples traveling group. He will be missed by many.
