AJ was one of the most friendly, extremely talented artistic people. He envisioned what you described to him and made it come to life. He will be fondly remembered by every person he touched and missed by all.

Gary was a true leader and helper to so many people in need. My sincere condolences to family, friends, and Bev. I met both Gary and Bev about 5 years ago when I stopped to admire the lovely house, with the 'L' shaped porch they renovated on Robinson. Gary always had his regular chair out on that large porch and always waved when I drove by when heading home. Gary had many close friends stop to talk quite often too! I was happy for Gary as he was in pain at different times, but never really complained. I could see it in his walk and face at times.
One day I stopped and asked if he and his lovely friend, Bev would like to volunteer at the Food Bank at our 1645 American Legion. Gary said 'yes' so fast, and immediately asked 'what do I have to do, I will be there'. I was so elated and not knowing him, wondered (at first) if he truly meant it. Gary was a true and humble person. I never even knew he had a Doctor's degree. Gary never brought it up for a long time, then I always called him Dr. George afterwards! I will so miss his laughter and also he was an expert in many fields. Gary enjoyed his last 3+ years at the Food Bank so much. Gary and Bev even joined us at our Food Bank's Educational Class, at the Front St.'s Health Dept. Conference Room, thru my invite.
I was so pleased how everyone of our volunteers truly enjoyed Gary. He even called Elmira and wanted a Tour of this Food Bank one day. Gary and Bev went for that Tour and he was always interested in new challenges. When Gary had pain, he still came to the Food Bank and he so much enjoyed collecting those numbers that food clients hand in at their last table section prior to leaving.
Gary enjoyed all the new and former people joining us each week.
On another topic, Gary was always interested in telling me about how the water flow on his street wasn't being done correctly. I had to change subject quickly as possible when he brought up City water flow and street upgrade of Robinson St. This construction was not a good topic with him and I was sad for him. Gary had beautiful cars and the street was torn up for a long time. We talked about cars too as I had same interests. I never knew he did local TV race announcements until he told me.
I was so happy to keep him busy with the upward spirit he always had of our large monthly Food Bank we had on the East Side. This volunteer duty took some pressure off of all City road construction near his house. Gary was great to call and talk with too. He treated me just like family, and so did his friend, Bev. I stopped by unexpectedly one summer and caught them out on their back porch! They always treated me so nice and this was a first by stopping to surprise them. We had such fun that day and it wasn't even a planned event.
When the holidays came around in 2020, I noticed their lovely house wasn't decorated. I saw the cars out back, and thought Gary went away for a trip. Little did I know that I was soon to lose a great pal, one who was so enthsiastic to help me and so many others get what spirit they needed in life. God Bless you Gary. You helped me and so many others you didnt even know.
We are all ~dancing on this earth for a short time~! ♡ Some day we will see you again.

AJ. I have not seen you for years and I am so sorry to hear of your demise.. We had a lot of great times together between the race tracks and hockey games and a cold beer hear and there. So many mutual friends and good times together. May you rest in peace AJ, and I hope they send you off at the tracks with a remembrance you deserve. Now you are part of the crew with Eddie Doebler and Dave May. May the 3 of you party hard up there in heaven
