of Chenango BridgeGary Walter Furth, 70, of Chenango Bridge area, died Monday, July 26, 2004, in the Star Unit of the James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home with his wife of 48 years, Roberta, holding his hand. He is also survived by three daughters and their families, Lynn and Peter Centariczki, Merrimac, Mass., Laura Beth and Robert Getz, St. Kitts, West Indies, and Bradford, Pa., Lisa and Michael Miller, Milford, Mass.; his grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Edgar and Rafael Centariczki, Zachary and Jacob Getz, Emily and David Miller. Gary is the son of Clara Ziegler and Walter Furth; and the brother of Glenn and Nancy Kellam Furth, Tex., Dr. Gregg Furth, London, England, Guy, who is deceased, and Susan Spear Furth, Ohio, and their children. His extended family includes relatives in Pa., Ill., Ohio and Fla. Gary graduated Case Institute of Technology, Cleveland, Ohio. His first job was with Curtis-Wright, developing car simulators and was hired by Edwin Link to work for his company in Binghamton, N.Y., retiring after 38 years of service with extended periods in England and Japan. Gary was an expert in making frames and matting pictures. He enjoyed ballroom and square dancing, playing bridge and kibbitzung with his Kattelville and North Fenton Seniors Groups.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Christophers Church, 103 Castle Creek Rd., Binghamton, Friday at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Nothing we can say will express our gratitude to the "Star Angels" of Hilltop for their graciousness, love, support and professionalism.
