George Moschak Obituary

George C. Moschak

formerly of Endwell - George C. Moschak, 83, formerly of Endwell, NY passed away March 7, 2018, in Seven Fields, PA, after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Moschak; his wife, Lucille (Ondecko) Moschak; sister Virginia (Moschak) Clavin; sister Dorlene (Moschak) Stater; and a nephew, David Ondecko. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Stephen Fowler, Lynette and James Calkins; two grandsons, Edward and Russell Calkins; a brother-in-law, Miles Ondecko; four nephews, Peter Clavin, Christopher Stater, Timothy Stater, Robert Ondecko; two nieces, Diane Sansky, and Linda Hamilton. He retired from CAE Link Corporation in Kirkwood, NY. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life. He also loved ballroom dancing, listening to live bands, anything related to sports, volunteering with the Dick's Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, NY, and making pirohi at St. Michael's in Binghamton, NY during Lenten season. Later in life, he also had a wonderful time dressing up for Halloween and competing in costume contests all around the Pittsburgh, PA area. The family would like to thank Dr. David Friedland and all of the special people who provided care for George at the Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, PA. You were family to us and he loved sharing his adventures with you. The family would also like to thank Bridges Hospice in Pittsburgh, PA for their kind and compassionate care of George. Your visits were something he, and we, looked forward to!

A funeral service will be held at Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home 326 Prospect St, Binghamton, NY at 11 am Saturday with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 am until time of services. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to St. Michael's Orthodox Church 296 Clinton St, Binghamton, NY 13905 or Broome County Meals On Wheels 85 Walnut St, Binghamton, NY 13905, in George C. Moschak's memory. A Memorial Celebration will be planned in Pittsburgh, PA at a later date. Kindly share your memories of George by signing his guestbook at Chopyak-scheider.com.

He was a GREAT guy and we shared many fun times, stories, and laughs. I am sure that many of his fellow-Linkers that worked with him will always have great memories of him.
