Gerald Kosydar Obituary

Gerald Kosydar
formerly of Vestal
Gerald Kosydar, age 68, left us on June 6, 2007 after a sudden bout of cancer in Leesburg, Florida, where he moved to enjoy year round warmer weather. Gerald left us by soul but will remain in our hearts forever more. The Lord has taken him to greener pastures and left us with the fondest of memories here on earth. His wonderful wife of 46 years, Anne, and their four children survive him, Mike and Brenda Kosydar, Kathleen and Fred Bomysoad, Paul Kosydar, Nancy and Dave Wilkinson. Seven grandchildren also survive him, Christopher and Eric Bomysoad, Jennifer and Kira Kosydar, Tyler, Katy and Kayla Wilkinson. Jerry proudly served his country in the US Navy, and then worked 30 years for Link Flight Simulation. He retired on Cayuga Lake, which served as his dream home, where he taught his grandchildren the art and patience of fishing. He loved the outdoors, the sight and sounds of the lake, and the eternal beauty of the sunsets closing out each day. Jerry was a teacher to his entire family and all those around him. He had an open ear, heart and mind that made everyone comfortable by just being around him. Poppa, as his grandchildren called him, will live in their hearts and his lessons will help them succeed in life. The family is having a private celebration of life to honor their beloved husband, father, and grandfather. While he left us suddenly, his memories and lessons of life will be with us forever.
In lieu of flowers, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) would be close to his heart and those wishing to may send donations in his memory to JDRF, 913 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, N.Y. 13088.

Dear Aunt Ann:

Tommy, Megan and I were saddened to hear about Uncle Jerry's passing. Our heart goes out to all of you as we know this is a tough time for everyone.

Tommy and Megan remember spending time with you all at the lakehouse with Grandpa and Grandma Lewis, fishing with Uncle Jerry and Grandpa Lewis, and Megan and Uncle Jerry sharing the same birthdate. There are a lot of fond memories and we will miss him.

We'll be thinking of you and will keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers.

Take care and lots of love - Pam, Tommy and Megan

Dear Aunt Anne,
I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Jerry. Seemed just like yesterday I was talking to him on the phone and emailing pictures back and forth. I will always have fond memories of going to "Aunt Dan" and Uncle Jerry's in New York and the times when you visited us in Missouri; they were some of the best times of my life. Please let Kathy, Paul, Mike and Nancy know that my heart goes out to them and their families. Becky and the family send their love and prayers. Hope to see and talk to you soon.
Love Dave

Anne:

Was saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. He sure did like life on our beautiful Hibiscus Harbor area, didn't he!! I always remember seeing him in the garden when I'd ride my bike by. Those sunsets on the lake are still such a lovely way to end the day here.
