Gerald "Jerry" W. Green
of Unadilla
Gerald "Jerry" W. Green, 62, of Unadilla, NY, passed away, Sunday, May 23, 2010 with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born, August 12, 1947 in Warwick, NY, the son of the late Carl H. and Marion (Howell) Green. He was married to Lois L. Hulse on August 9, 1980 in Warwick, NY. Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. He presently owned and operated, Green's Long River Inn, in Unadilla, NY, and was an active Boy Scout Committee member, and active in Dirt Motor Sports. Jerry is survived by his wife, Lois L. Green of Unadilla; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Bill Carey of Unadilla, Kate Andrews and Doug Wells of Unadilla, Jeri-Anne and Cliff Gates of Warwick, NY, Melissa and Dave Houghtaling of Perry, GA; his grandchildren, Travis M.A. Andrews, Carter J. Carey, Max W. Carey, Summer and David Houghtaling. The apples of his eyes were, Travis, Carter, and Max; also a niece and a nephew, Kate and Andrew Green. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl K. Green and his father-in-law, Stanley G. Hulse.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Unadilla Community Center, 246 Main St., Unadilla, NY, with Donald Tuttle and Brian Danforth, Boy Scout Leaders of Unadilla Troop #1 officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Youngsville, NY. Friends may call at the Westcott Funeral Home, 123 Main St., Unadilla, NY, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at 5 Ontio Terrace, Unadilla, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820 or the Boy Scout Troop #1, 288 Main St., Unadilla, NY 13849. Funeral arrangements are by the Westcott Funeral Home Inc., Unadilla, NY.
