MEDOVICH

James Joseph

Elmira: Age 74, formerly of Binghamton, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. James was born in Binghamton, a son of the late John and Helen (Fitzgerald) Medovich. He was predeceased by his first wife Sandra Jean (Woollett) Medovich. James is survived by his wife Joyce Trifoso-Medovich; his brother Jack "Ace" Medovich with wife Dee of Binghamton; children, Jimmy Medovich and fianc?e Kathleen of Endicott NY, Kelly Bridges and husband Ray of Lakeland FL, Scott Medovich and wife Heather of Harpursville NY, and Etti Medovich of Binghamton; grandsons, Robby, Cody, Travis and Nicholas; granddaughters, Shelby, Saleen, Ghia and Sara; father-in-law Alfred Spallone of Elmira; stepchildren, Paul Trifoso, Beth Borgna, Susan Reed, Lynn Iannone and their families; several nieces, nephews and cousins. James is also survived by his faithful canine companion "Millie". He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. James worked for Singer-Link in Binghamton for over 20 years. He later worked for National Computer in Apalachin from where he retired. James was a graduate of St. Paul's High School and Broome Community College. He was an avid bowler for 50 years and was a junior bowling coach at Brandywine Bowl in Binghamton NY. James loved to sing and he was a member of the choir for Blessed Sacrament Church in Johnson City NY. He loved doing puzzles of all kinds. A big fan of sports and NASCAR, James will leave behind many friends that he made through his journey of life. He was a great man and will be dearly missed. Services will be held in both Elmira and Binghamton. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, corner of W. Clinton St. and Park Place in Elmira, on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Committal prayers and military honors will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis St., Elmira. A Memorial Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyliss Street, Endwell NY, on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in James' memory may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning NY 14830. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home, Elmira.
