McGuigan, John P.

Silver Spring, MD: John (Jack) McGuigan, 80, of Silver Spring, MD, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 14, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Kane McGuigan; parents, Donald and Doris McGuigan; his brother, Donald McGuigan Jr.; and his granddaughter, Amber Faith McGuigan. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen McGuigan (Gene Berndt) and Maureen Kamischke (Kent); his sister-in-law, Patricia McGuigan; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, Kate, and Maren; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was a retired employee of Singer-Link and a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the US Air Force. A private viewing will be held for the family. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Savage Funeral Service, 338 Conklin Ave., Binghamton, NY. Online condolences may be left at www.savagefs.com. We had the pleasure of meeting and spending St. Patricks day (at a special Irish Inn) with John and his lovely family several years in a row. He was blessed with wonderful loving daughters and family and I know he will remain in their hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family.
