Joseph Vilasi Obituary
Joseph P. Vilasi Jr. 58, of Binghamton, passed away surrounded by his family on March 30, 2017. He is predeceased by his grandparents Santo and Anna Vilasi, Jeddie and Myrtle MacMillan; and several Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his loving wife Shelley Vilasi; his children Matthew (Jillian) Vilasi, Elizabeth (Michael) Sweet, Lucia Vilasi and her fiancé Brandon Bendick; grandchildren Aubrey Elizabeth, Luca Paul, Emma Marie; parents Nancy and Joseph Vilasi; siblings, Donna (Dale) Powers, Peter (Susan) Vilasi, Angela (Matthew) McConell; father and mother in-law Robert and Nancy Musterman; sisters in-law Wendy (Greg) Walston, Laura (Sean) Callahan, brother-in-law Robert (Dayna) Musterman Jr.; and his nieces and nephews. Joe was a 30 year employee of Link. He was a former football official for both high school and college. He was an avid sportsman and loved his dogs Bogart, Vinnie and Stella. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 6pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St. Binghamton, NY 13903 in Joe's memory. Arrangements are with Albert J. DeMarco.

Shelly and the rest of the Vilasi Family. I just found out today that Joe had passed away. I am shocked and saddened. Joe was a very good man, always a gentleman. I will never forget Joe's efforts in trying helping me find employment in several companies that he worked for. He also took time to come see both my boys play football while they were in high school. Always had fun standing along the fence and talking football. I will miss him, but will always keep him close in my thoughts and prayers. My God Bless you and the rest of Joe's family. Just know that Joe is in heaven and looking down on us all. God and Joe will keep all of you in God's hands and will wait to see you all when it is your turn. Keep your faith strong and know he will always be there for you. My sincere condolences.

Shelley & Family, my heart is filled with sorrow with Joe's passing. My brother went to SV with Joe, and I officiated many games with Joe. He always had a smile on his face. He'd talk about his family a lot on the rides to and from football games, I missed him when we left the Binghamton area, and I miss him more now that he's past.

Joe & Nancy,
Words can not express my sympathy to you both and Joe's children and wife. My memories of working in the same department with both Joe Jr. and Sr. are always remembered fondly.
I remember when Joe stopped over to our house and Matthew and Elizabeth were just babies. Matthew wanted to go swimming in our pool so I took him in. I remember when he wanted to raise chickens and changed his mind when one died and he had to bury it. Also, when he was working outside and accidently hit Matthew in the head with his hammer. He was soooo upset.
Joe was a good person and loved to tell the story about how Phil and I meet - should never have told him. .....
I can't make it to the funeral, my thoughts and prayers are with the family.
