Julia Ann Balaz
of Binghamton
Julia Ann Balaz went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 23, 2005. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Mary Stupal Balaz; and her nephew, Ward M. Cornell. Julia is survived by her sister, Mary Kulyk; a cousin, Anna Karaim; her favorite nieces and nephews, Doris Cornell, Marsha and Bruce Snyder; and their children, Mathew Gordon, Jessica and Daniel Snyder, Susan Cornell, Michael and Carrey Cornell; and their children, Emily, Tess and Wyatt, Judy and Jim Parsons and children, Carol Wild and children, Debra and Mike Tkach. Julia was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, Binghamton, for most of her life and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and taught C.C.D. and did volunteer work. She retired from Singer-Link. Julia wanted to thank her dear friends, Marie and John Drankoski, Kay Keltos, Kay Robinson, Betty Fitch, Helen Telep and John Kubica for their care and kindness. Her family would like to thank the 3rd floor nursing staff at Susquehanna Nursing Center and the staff of Hospice for their care and support during Julia's illness.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday at 9:30 and at 10 a.m. at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Julia may be made to the St. Cyril's Church Building Fund, 148 Clinton St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital,169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
