M. Valeria Bittner
of Binghamton
M. Valeria Bittner, 83, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary (Hrasna) Bittner; and an infant brother. She is survived by her cousins, Beatrice Foltyn, John Foltyn, Katherine Kelech, all of Endwell, and Stephanie Halecki, Smithville Flats; second cousins, Janice (Thomas) Senigla, Johnson City, Karin (Paul) Bartholomew, Michael D. Kelech, all of Colorado, and John (Barbara) Halecki, of Mass.; several third cousins and good friends, including special neighbor, Helen Yesensky; also survived by family in Europe. She was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Church in Binghamton. She was a former employee of Endicott-Johnson Corp., and a retired employee of Singer-Link. Valeria was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her garden.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. At Valeria's request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
