Paul H. Ives

North Carolina, formerly of Conklin - Paul H. Ives passed away on April 13, 2021 at the age of 89 surrounded by his loving family. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a great sense of humor. Despite the pain, Paul came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Paul was born in Endicott and grew up in the Binghamton area, graduating from Union Endicott High School before joining the Navy where he served on the USS Charles P. Cecil. He went on to attend Broome Community College where he met the love of his life, Jo May Shott. He worked for Singer-Link Corp until he retired in 1990. He then began his second career as a clock maker. He enjoyed his family and traveling with his wife. He was a member of Trinity Memorial Church and an active member of Conklin Kiwanis. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jo May Ives; two daughters, Susan (John) Hartman of NC and Paula (Gary) Simpson of VA; grandchildren, Alex Reardon, Kathryn and Bryan Hartman; step grandchildren, Jennifer Hartman, Tyler and Kevin Simpson; step great-grandchild Loris Norella; sister-in-law Grace Ives; Brother-in-law James (Nancy) Shott and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Sherman D. Ives, Claude & Margaret McRorie and brother Sherman H. Ives.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 until 6pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson Street Binghamton, NY 13904. A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 11am on Saturday April 24, 2021 at Conklin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church or The Center for Technology and Innovation, located at 321 Water Street, Binghamton.
