Peter Maciak Obituary
Peter Maciak, 85, passed away on June 4, 2011 at ARIA Hospital in Langhorne, PA with his loving family at his side.
He was born on January 18, 1926 in Old Forge, PA, the son of the late George and Catherine (Tama) Maciak. At the age of 15, Peter moved to Binghamton, NY where he established a prominent career in photography at Ansco, Singer-Link Division and as the owner of Maciak's Studio.
His photographs had been widely published in books and national magazines as well as earning numerous professional awards. This and his memorable work as a wedding and portrait photographer extended over fifty years.
He proudly served, with distinction, in the US Army's 78th Infantry Division during World War II.
Mr. Maciak was predeceased by his infant son, David, and an infant granddaughter Lisa Marie, a brother, Joseph Maciak of Clark Summit, PA ; his two sisters, Helen Golushka of Duryea, PA and Mary Lucas of Binghamton; and son-in-law, John DeLamarter.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Anna (Charpinsky) Maciak; sister-in-law, Anna (Boburka) Charpinsky; five sons; Gary and wife Jane of Hackettstown, NJ, and from the Binghamton, NY area, Daniel and wife Sandy, Mark and wife Charlene, Peter Michael, Jr. and wife Sophie and John Maciak; two daughters, Kathleen Baltic and Theresa DeLamarter along with 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Maciak family expresses appreciation for the care given by Peter's daughter, Kathleen and her children; Tina, Jim and Danielle.
Memorial donations may be made in Peter's name to: www.woundedwarriorproject.com.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 11th, 10 a.m. at Sts. John - Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Ave.Binghamton. Msgr. Meagher will officiate. The family will receive friends between 8 to 9 a.m. at Savage Funeral Home, 338 Conklin Ave. Binghamton.

Kathy & Family, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, he will be missed dearly, such a sweet & caring Man. Sincere condolences on the passing of Pete. We, like so many others, considered him to be our own personal "family photographer". Now, when I look at the photos he took, I will not only enjoy the creative artistry of the photographer, but also think of the soft spoken, kind, family man and patriot that he was. Pete was the photographer for our family weddings. If memory serves correctly, he was the photographer for 6 of the 7 weddings. He was a wonderful man and friend to my Aunt Mary & Uncle Maurice at Tri-City Photo. May they all now share good times in heaven watching over us. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

I remember working side by side with Pete for many years. His work hangs in my home as it does in many homes in the Southern Tier. He hosted many meetings of the Professional Photographers Society of New York in his studio. Pete was a great friend and will be missed by many including myself. My thoughts are with all of you.
