Rutherford, Raymond

Raymond Rutherford, 89, of Johnson City passed away on December 26, 2015. He was predeceased by his daughter, Rita and son-in-law, David Jennings. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alta Rutherford; son, John and (Jackie) Rutherford; son, James Rutherford; daughter, Sandra and (Scott) Glemby; daughter, Ann Pierce; sister-in-law, Loretta Basa; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was very skilled with electronics and while employed at Singer Link was chosen to contribute to the Apollo 11 Space mission. He enjoyed spending his free time outdoors and was seldom idle. He was a loving husband and father. Ray will be remembered as a kind, humble man. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are welcomed to a gathering at the Knights of Columbus on 126 Main Street in Johnson City on Tuesday, January 5th, 4 to 7 pm to share memories of Ray and to celebrate a life well spent.
