Ron Slahucka Obituary
Bucksport, ME - Ron Slahucka, 80 (formerly from Johnson City and Endicott) passed away, on Dec 8, 2020 in Bucksport, Maine after having been diagnosed with Covid-19, 10 days earlier. Ron was predeceased by his parents Frank & Anna Slahucka, his wife Nancy (Hawley) in 1993 and his son Michael (in 2018). He is survived by his wife Linda Moore, his 2 daughters Sharon (Pedro) Ortiz, Joan Slahucka; his grandson Morgan Ortiz, granddaughter Christine Ortiz, his brother William Slahucka and four step-sons. Ron graduated from Binghamton North in 1958 and Broome Community College. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corp, became a pilot, served in Vietnam, became a Captain and earned a Purple Heart. He flew for a regional commercial airline and for the Broome Dusters. He worked at Singer-Link for the simulation program. Ron was proud to have served in the Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion. He was very intelligent and had a quick and acerbic wit. The family asks that you remember Ron in your own special way on his birthday, June 7th. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion.
