Virginia Rich Obituary
Virginia "Ginny" M. Rich
of Hillcrest
Virginia "Ginny" M. Rich, 82, passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver Rich; and daughter, Lori M. Edwards. She is survived by her son, Darrel Rich and friend, Shirley McLean Martin, Hillcrest; daughter and son-in-law, Elyn and Bill Brundege, Mt. Morris, N.Y.; grandson, Will Brundege; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Virginia was an avid golfer and bowler who was always a very social person. She was well liked by her many friends.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at the Chenango Valley Cemetery. At Virginia's request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Assn.

My family and I have many fond memories of our numerous mutual visits to visit and host the Rich family from the mid 1960s to the mid 1970s. Ginny was a great host, lots of fun, and we shared a love of potato chips. She, and the other members of her family, are sorely missed.

I have many fond memories of Ginny. She and my dad, Ralph Hutta, had a great time together at the Moose Club, dancing the night away and then having breakfast at a diner in the early hours of the morning.
I loved her stories of growing up in Binghamton and going to school at St Paul's. She always spoke fondly of her husband and children. Ginny was a special lady with a heart of gold.

To the family of Ginny, I extend my deepest sympathy. I worked and played with Ginny for many years when we both worked at Link. She was a very caring and compassionate friend. We spent many hours talking about life and how dearly she loved and missed Oliver.
