Walter K. Siver
of Big Pine Key, Florida
Walter K. Siver, 70, of Big Pine Key, Florida, died peacefully on March 21, 2004 at home with his wife, Ruth Gdovin Siver at his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. Formerly of Endwell, N.Y., and a long time summer resident of Sandy Pond, N.Y., he was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Juriga; and his parents, Gertrude and Kenneth Siver. He is survived by his daughters and sons, Janelle Lenehan, Jamesville, N.Y., Lonnie (Stanley) Peterson, Alpharetta, Ga., Mark (Elizabeth) Siver, Canton, Ga., and Erik (Ann) Siver, Cumming, Ga.; his grandchildren, Russell and Ryan Peterson, Michael and Maureen Lenehan, Emma and Evan Siver; sisters, Carol (Phil) Gilmore, Nancy (Joe) Lewis; an uncle and aunt, Vincent and Jean Hagman; brothers-in-law, Tom (Karen) Gdovin, David (Mickey) Gdovin; also several very special nieces, nephews, and Hagman Happening cousins. Walt retired from Link Flight Simulation after 35 years of service and relocated 12 years ago to the Keys to enjoy boating, fishing, and his hammock while "keeping his options open." The family wishes to extend special thanks to Maggie Darragh of the Florida Keys Hospice also Jay and Karen LePrell, Midge and Jim Stuard for their unending support during this difficult time.
As per his wishes, arrangements for cremation have been made by the N. American Cremation Society, Deerfield Beach, Fla. A funeral mass will be celebrated on a future date at the convenience of the family and his ashes will be scattered upon the waters of Sandy Pond, Walt's heaven on earth. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
