William D. Davies
of Binghamton
William D. Davies, 80, went to be with the Lord and his loved ones on Friday, October 16, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna; loving wife, Mary Louise (Leo) Davies in 2004; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by four children, William C. Davies of Oneonta, Joseph Davies and his wife, Rebecca of San Diego, CA, Christine Davies, Barbara Davies and her friend, James Wood of Binghamton; his beautiful granddaughter, Sarah Davies of San Diego; a brother, Mickey Davies; and many nieces and nephews. He was a former timekeeper for the Singer Link Corporation from 1957-1991 and later as a school bus monitor at Serafini Transportation. He was an avid New York Mets and Giants fan and loved watching the games. He also served in the Naval Reserves on the USS Nicholson. Bill was also a civil war history enthusiast.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Tower of Memories in Vestal Hills Memorial Park with Very Rev. John R. Martinichio officiating with committal following. The family will receive friends Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton. A special thank you to the staff at Absolut of Endicott for taking such good care of him in the last few years of this life.

My father is a resident of Absolut and in my visiting with him, I got to know your father. He was a very nice man and able to still hold a pretty good conversation. I and my family are sorry for your loss.
