Willis "Tommy"
George Thompson
of Kattelville
Willis "Tommy" George Thompson, 76, of Oak Hill Road, Kattelville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at his home. Tommy was born in Binghamton on September 20, 1933, son of late Willis Harold Thompson and Elsie Elizabeth Ripperger. He attended The United States Coast Guard Academy and graduated from Penn State with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to earn this NY Professional Engineering License. His engineering career encompassed Singer Link and IBM, Endicott. He and his wife traveled to several places around the world and throughout the United States. He enjoyed relaxing at his summer cottage on Petonia Lake, Greene. Tommy had a broad interest in history, music, the Tall Ships and preserving family genealogies. He was an active member of Valley Cotillion Dance Club, Smithville Historical Society, IBM Quarter Century Club, Greater Binghamton Friendship Force, and the Kattelville Chenango Senior Citizens. He attended Valley Christian Reformed Church and Smithville Center Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his half brother, Garry R. Thompson. Survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Edele; daughter, Tamalene "Tammy" Frances Foutris of Rochester, NY, and her sons, Evangelos and Theophanis; daughter, Laurie Lee and husband, Keith Harrington and their children, Bethany and Erin of Rochester, NY; and son, Trevor Willis and wife, Ann Thompson and their daughter, Olivia of Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Valley Christian Reformed Church, 1452 River Road, Binghamton, NY 13901.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Christian Reformed Church, 1452 River Road, Kattelville. Rev. Dr. Keith Harrington and Rev. Paul Walley will officiate. Burial will be in Sylvan Cemetery, Greene. The family will receive friends at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home Inc., 71 Main St., Binghamton on Friday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Ernest H. Parsons

I just received this news from my daughter, who got it in an old email account she seldom checks! What a shock. I pray that you will be comforted by our merciful Lord and have the "peace that passes all understanding".
