I really loved Jane.
She simply radiated Grace and calm determination to live a peaceful life. I admired her so much and miss her more than I can say. Losing Jane in my life was really difficult and at her passing he left a void that cannot be filled. Just before she died (and it was clear her time was short) I traveled to the Vineyard for a sweet farewell. I visited with her and a realative and we said our goodbyes. It was a semi sweet meeting because we both new it would be our last. Jane was a really extraordinary woman and I loved and had so much respect for her. I will always miss her.

Jane and Paul were almost relatives of ours. Paul's father was married to our step-grandmother, and we had many happy family gatherings I will always remember. Our condolences to Karl and Christian and your families.

Although we only met Jane, and Paul, a few times through the Skinners we always much enjoyed being in their company and send our deepest sympathy to her family at this sad time. Nick and Gilly Bomford

I always remember Jane with a smile and positive outlook on life. I am Jane's cousin, and though I didn't really know Jane in my adult life except from seeing her at various family events, I have memories going back from when I was a young child and anytime I have thought of Jane and any time I saw her and talked with her at at these family events, she stands out as happy and always positive about life. It was like there was no distance between us. . What a remarkable person who left such a positive mark in so many lives over so many years. Also, I know Janie was a huge help to my sister Meg who also had brain cancer; I know Meg treasured many good conversations and, even amidst Janes battles with the same thing, she comforted my sister immeasurably. How blessed everyone is to have known Jane in life and in her passing. She certainly is still with us in so many ways.

Julie and Jane's family, we were so sorry to hear the news about Jane's death. We got to know her over the past 10 + years or so, on Martha's Vineyard. What a person so full of grace. Her smile, her interest in others, her love of all things outdoors, her gentle way, all so contagious. We send our thoughts and prayers to all of you. Linda and Gerald Jones. I worked with Jane at RISD while I was Assistant to the Dean of Architecture & Design. She was always such a joyful and smiling presence. Every year I use a beautiful Christmas ornament she gave me. My sincerest sympathies to all of her family and friends. She was definitely a gift in my life. Sincerely, Kathy DiNapoli

I loved Jane....but so did everyone I know who knew her. She was a gift to us all and brought us ove and peace and light and kindness. Her courage and Grace these last few years of her illness were really a wonder. Much love to Christian and Karl and the family. She will live in my heart forever.
