Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Lenart) Zielinski and was also preceded in death by her step-father, Walter R. Franckowiak.
She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church and was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.
Mrs. Loughlin was a self-employed beautician and was also employed by AT&T as a line worker.
She loved spending time with her family and very close friends as well as participating in the Breakfast and Birthday Club at The Tennis Park Condominiums.
Mrs. Loughlin is survived by her daughters, Lori L. Mattern, wife of Rick F. Mattern, of Shillington, and Karen A. Meridionale, wife of Kevin A. Meridionale, of Sinking Spring; and her grandchildren: Jonathan R. Mattern; Jared R. Mattern; Anthony J. Meridionale; and Gabriella R. Meridionale. Also surviving is her sister, Geraldine Murgia, wife of Ralph Murgia, of Pottstown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral procession will depart Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Chapel of Saint George at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Thursday, from 8:15-9:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Easter Seals Eastern PA, Berks Division, 90 George Street, Laureldale, PA19605, in memory of Mrs. Doris J. Loughlin.

So sad to read this death. We were very close friends in our youth...cousins....and we went to Tyson-Schoener and SW together. After our marriages and children we lost contact, except to see each other at the market or shopping centers. My condolences to her family that I know were very important in her life.

Awe so sorry to the family she left behind.. I ve known Doris from when she lived on Cotton St in Reading back in the day.. Always loved her.. She was my hairdresser first,, then we both got jobs at Western Electric back in 79 thats when I ran into her again.. she worked 2nd shift at first I was 3rd but what a small world this is that we got to work together after all those years.. Doris now your with your husband again so sad to see you go at a young age. you were a beautiful person RIP
