Grace Nobuko Kono

Grace Kono Obituary

Grace Nobuko Kono, born on October 10, 1926 in Florin, CA to the late Joichi and Shizuko Nitta, peacefully passed away in her home at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kern; survived by her son, Brian Kono; daughter, Charlene Kono; grandsons, Joseph and Collin Kono-Woo as well as many other family members and friends who will profoundly miss her dearly. Grace devoted 25 years of service as an accountant for the State of CA. She had been an active member of the Sacramento Japanese Methodist Church and the VFW. At Grace's request, the funeral and interment services will be held in private for the immediate family only. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Charlene - My condolences on the loss of your mother. I have many fond memories of buying candy from Grace when my mom stopped in to buy groceries at the little store in Florin. She was always cheerful and welcoming. I hope you find comfort in your wonderful memories of her.
