Mary Louisa Geroche, age 91, passed away on January 17, 2021. She was born on June 20, 1929, in Oceanside, CA, and later moved to San Diego. Mary retired from the San Diego Blood Bank after 35 years where she was Director of the Blood Retrieval Department and was Don Diego VFW Post 7420 Women's Auxiliary president 1975. Mary enjoyed getting together with her friends from Memorial Junior High and San Diego High School, Old Gray Castle, class of '47. She was a long-time Charger ticket holder and avid Dodger fan. She moved to Escondido in 2013, resided at Las Villas Del Norte, became a Resident Ambassador in her senior community. Long-time parishioner of St. Jude's Church, San Diego.Mary is survived by her brother Ralph Esparza and sister Dolores Ruiz, son, Bernardo "Benny" Garcia(Ana), grandchildren, Benny (Sahar), Maritza, Deanna (Jose) and Joseph, great-grandchildren Katelyn and Chelsea and many nephews and nieces.Mary was preceded in death by her parents Luis M. Esparza and Nemecia Chavarria, brothers and sisters Eduardo, Louie, Ernie, John, Andy, Raymond, Helen, Elvira and Lorraine .Services will be at St. Jude Shrine of the West, on February 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., 3785 Boston Ave, San Diego, CA 92113. Interment will follow at Greenwood Mortuary, San Diego. We are abiding by Covid guidelines. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Church, San Diego.
