Sept. 6, 1928 - Mar. 26, 2016
SOUTH BEND - Robert J. Lewinski, 87, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Bob was born September 6, 1928 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Lillian (Waloska) Lewinski. He is survived by his wife, Ovalyn Lewinski; his children, Bill (Rachelle) Lewinski, Laura (Larry) Van Rassen and Kirk (Leslie) Udvardi; grandchildren, Matthew, Samuel, Abram and Esther Udvardi, Brandon and Connor Clayton, Grant, Tye and Brynn Lewinski; brother, Jim Lewinski; and God-daughter, Michelle (Cornelis) Hammer.
Bob was a graduate of South Bend Catholic High School and attended the University of Notre Dame where he played football for one year. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a proud member of the 101st Airborne. Bob retired from AM General after 25 years. He was a member of the Bowlers Country Club and Eagles Aerie of South Bend. Bob enjoyed bowling, painting, and photography. He loved all sports, especially Notre Dame Football and Girls Basketball.
Visitation for Robert is 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

We worked with Bob at the Chamber of Commerce. Bob always had a smile on his face and never failed to brighten your day. He took pride in his work and was always cheerful. We remember him fondly. Marci Sears and Becky Bonham.
