Lamont Cruz Obituary
NEW BEDFORD -- Lamont S. Cruz, 38, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly, October 26, 2006, in St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford. He was the husband of Marcy E. (Perry) Cruz.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Donna (Cruz) Barboza of New Bedford and the late Evaristo "Buddy" Gomes, he grew up in the city and lived a time in Queens, NY.
Mr. Cruz was employed by the Intergraded Solid Waste Management Department in Bourne. He enjoyed dancing, music, lifting weights and spending time with his family and kids especially at the beach.
He is survived by his wife and mother; his step mother, Kathleen (Doherty) Gomes of Brockton; his grandmother, Clarisse (Gomes) Monteiro of Brockton; two sons, Shane Cruz of Fall River and Lamont Cruz, Jr. of New Bedford; a step son, Phillip Perry of New Bedford; two daughters, La'Mia Cruz and Ma'Kai Cruz, both of New Bedford; two step daughters, Alyceia and Roberta Perry, both of New Bedford; a brother, Alfonso Misuaca of Brockton; four sisters, Tamyko and Tiffany Doherty and Taylar and Troi Gomes, all of Brockton; several aunts, uncles, cousins; a niece; and a nephew.
He was the grandson of the late Peter and Josephine (Baptiste) Cruz.
