SPARTANBURG, SC-- Christine Lawrence Finney, 47, wife of Claude Swanson 'Trey' Finney III, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
Born April 1, 1968, in Painesville, OH, and raised in Uniontown, PA, she was a daughter of Ronald and Margaret Elnikar Lawrence.
Christine graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design, and worked at Disney Feature Animation for 15 years where she worked on numerous short and featured films, such as Rescuers Down Under, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear. In 2006, Christine and her husband Trey made Spartanburg their home and began traveling to paint the beautiful locations and to exhibit their fine art regionally.
Christine also loved taking annual trips with her sister Michele where she gathered inspiration for her work. Christine was a loving wife, devoted daughter, and a caring sister. She was an accomplished, beautiful person and artist whose kind spirit will always be remembered. Christine's smile was contagious and no matter where she was, she lit up the room with poise and grace. Christine will forever be missed but never forgotten.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Michele Hastings; mother-in-law, Marjorie C. Cannon; father-in-law, Claude S. Finney, Jr. and his wife Beth; Sister-in-law, Kathryn Finney White (David); a niece, Marjorie White; nephew, Grier White; and her Beagle dog, Bailey.

Dear Christine, you were a rare and exotic flower. When you entered a room, we all felt inferior to your beauty, elegance and grace but at the same time, awed by it. I was also awed by your talent. It seemed like such an honor to actually know someone who had as much talent as you and Trey. All of our lives were made infinitely better by having viewed your beautiful paintings and for having known you. I know without a doubt that you are at peace now, Heaven's most luminous angel now. Fondly, your friend, Susan

Our hearts are broken but we have lasting memories of the beautiful, loving, caring girl and her wonderful smile and dimples. We can see her at Aunt Sophie's living room in Star Junction, at the Christmas Eve table at Aunt Mary's, at her gorgeous wedding, and at her fabulous drawing table at Disney. We are so happy for the times we shared and regret the time we missed. Lots of love to Trey, Margie, Ron, and Michele.

I've had the privilege of only brief moments painting with Christine & Trey in the mountains over the past few years and yet Christine was the type of person who made you feel as though you were her favorite friend. I cannot image the loss for those who have been blessed to know her in more intimate ways.
What a blessing to have been touched by this precious woman. What an incredible legacy of love & Grace she leaves with us all.
God bless you, Trey! Prayers for you and family.
