Benjamin Lineberry Obituary

PAULINE, SC- Benjamin Boyd "Benji" Lineberry, 48, of Pauline, SC, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 8, 2019. Born September 1, 1970, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of James Benjamin Lineberry and Nancy Smith Lineberry of Pauline, SC.
A graduate of Dorman High School and member of the Dorman High School Band, Benji was a graduate of Spartanburg Community College, and attended USC-Upstate. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Carly Lester Lineberry; son, Benjamin "Ben" James Lineberry and daughter, Alana Reese Lineberry, both of Pauline, SC; brother, James Marcus Lineberry (Angie) of Pauline, SC; niece, Morgan Whitley; nephews, Josh Whitley and Danny Whitley; uncle, Bill Lineberry and aunt, Janet Lineberry of Jacksonville, FL; cousins, Scott Lineberry and David Lineberry; father-in-law, Randy Lester and brother-in-law, Scott Lester, both of Wellford, SC; Carly's grandmother, Pauline Lews; many cousins; best friends, Marcus Lineberry, Jared Bishop, Stephen Barber, Jon Hall, Chris Cook, Josh Marshall, and John Scoggin; and a little fur-ball by the name of Cinder.
Benji enjoyed family trips to Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge. This included a surprise snow trip to Pigeon Forge with Carly's family and her mother (Patricia Lester, now deceased). He and his family looked forward to visits with his grandparents, (J. E. Lineberry and Sarah H. Lineberry, now deceased) on several trips at Kissimmee, FL. These ventures to Disney World continued as he chauffeured his parents to visit Mickey and Minnie at Disney World. He wasn't much on the rides, but he enjoyed being in the parks and seeing his children react to the parades, characters, the sights, and the rides too.
Also, Benji enjoyed playing his bass guitar in two bands, Furnace and Juggernaut, with his brother, Marcus, and jamming with fellow musicians/friends, Stephen Barber, Jon Hall, Josh Marshall, Clay Lytle, Jamie Cash, Donnie Rash, Clint Upchurch, Keith Prince, and Corey Porter.
Benji, just like his Dad, looked forward to attending Clemson football games and tailgating with family and friends. Benji especially enjoyed attending the Veteran's Day game at Clemson with his Dad, Marcus, and Ben.
Benji was introduced to the STAR WARS movie genre at a very young age and continued that interest over the years through collecting memorabilia. He enjoyed going to the premiers of the new STAR WARS movies with Marcus, Big-B, and his son, Ben. Most of all, Benji enjoyed attending several school and church activities in which Ben (5th grade football) and Reese (dancing at Star Makers) were participants. They were special to him and he loved them both.
Benji continued his love for his wife, Carly, as he was proud that they had two beautiful children. Over the last week he would say to each one of them that he dearly loved them. He also showed his love for his parents and told them what they meant to him and how much he appreciated all that they had done to help him and his family. He said that he loved both of his parents more than words could say. Benji had that loving kindness with his heart. May God bless you, Benji.
Visitation will be at 1:00–2:45 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3119 Hwy 56, Pauline, SC 29374 with funeral services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Monty King and The Rev. Edgar Boles. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church Family Life Center Fund, PO Box 220, Pauline, SC 29374; or any branch of United Community Bank, Lineberry Children Benefit Fund.
The family is at the home of Carly Lineberry.
