Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary Mauka Chapel ALBERNA "BERNIE" HINANO KANEAPUA Alberna "Bernie" Hinano Kaneapua, 59, of Aiea, died on March 25,2007. Born in Honolulu on January 11, 1948 to Joseph & Elizabeth Kaneapua. She was the youngest of six children and the only girl. A proud graduate of Farrington High School, Class of 1966. She continued her education at a vocational school and received a certificate for office management. Over the years she was employed with the Star News in Chula Vista, California, Dunham & Smith, Tesoro and R&R Plumbing. Her co-workers remember her most because of her humor, big heart and tenacity. Bernie's pasttimes included bowling, hanging with friends and spending time with family. Bernie was predeceased by her parents, her oldest brother Lewis Kaneapua and her son Alted Emerson. She is survived by her son Shane K. Kaneapua, daughters Nicole P. Kaneapua and Connie E.L. Emerson. Beloved grand- children Audra, Ashley, Chloe, Taylor, Alexis, Asia, Alwaise, Ambiance, Kalei and Joseph. Also surviving are her brothers Donald, Lawrence (Mabel), Ronald and Gene (Linda). Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Her presence in our lives may have been short lived, but her memory will be etched in our hearts forever. Visitation 5:00 PM Friday (April 20) at Mauka Chapel - Mililani Memorial Park; Service 7:00 PM. Casual attire.
