Donna, Bill and Brad,
Michele and I are so sad for your loss and regret we did not make it to the memorial service for Matthew. You are in our thoughts and prayers. No doubt Matthew came from two wonderful parents who loved him unconditionally and will miss him terribly.

Donna and Bill, there are no words that can express my sympathy. I received this poem when I lost someone special in my life and would love to share it with you:
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say "Goodbye".
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness,
and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you -
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want me
to mourn for you no more;
To remember all the happy times
life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten,

Matthew Allan Steen will always be in our hearts. I haven't seen Matthew in a while but I grew up with him. He and my brother were best friends. He always made everyone laugh and smile. I am so sorry Steen family, I know how much yall loved him and we loved him so much too. Memories of the fun times we all had together are still in my mind clear as day. I can still remember going to the beach with yall and Matthew teaching us how to do the sand slid board. He is someone who you couldn't forget because even young you could tell he cared about people. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers as will The Steen Family. He will never be far because nothing and no one can break a bond of love that Matthew made with yall and us. He has touched our hearts and we are deeply saddened by this accident, but I know that he is never to far away. We will forever love and have a spot in our heart for Matthew. With love, CiCi Barland
