Marilyn became my friend in Miami, Florida, where we both taught at Horace Mann Jr. High School. It was my first year teaching. I was far from home...Illinois...and she befriended and guided me. She introduced me to her parents and her sister. I became one of the family while I lived that one year in Miami. We continued to remain friends and saw each other when possible. I will never forget her. She was intelligent, funny, thoughtful, and steadfast. I will miss her.
