Cynthia A. Bass, 79

MUNCIE - Cynthia A. Bass, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. 

She was born in Paulding, Ohio to Ralph and Hazel Wright. Cynthia was a longtime member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and a graduate of Muncie Central High School. 

She was previously employed at Westinghouse Ontario Corporation, with Dr. Rivers, LS Ayres and retired from Jarden Company.  She was also the funeral coordinator for Gholar & Gholar Funeral Service for twenty years.  She was a member of the Senior Missionary as well as the Usher Board at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Victor Bowling League and Coatley Softball team as well as an avid Muncie Central Bearcat and Indiana Pacers fan.  

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory, her children, James Bass, Fort Worth, TX, William (Lois) Bass, Jr., " like a son" Steve Barnes, Jr., Darrell Cooper, all of Muncie, Fulisa (Andrew) Freshwater, St. Paul, MN, Dorthea Bass, Sara (Howard) Miller, Sondra (Sonnie) Bass, Gayle (Leo) Scaife, all of Muncie, Frances (Joe) Bacon, Fort. Worth, TX; brothers, Ivan (Jeannie) Wright, Sr. and Willie (Annie) Gholar Jr., both of Muncie; granddaughters, Satina Jones Hall, Dionna Bass Ivy, Alisha Humphrey, Sanethea Barnes, Nicole Bass, Arlena Thomas; grandsons, Andre Jones, Sr., Devin Carter, Brent Roberts, William L. Bass, Jamar Bass and Andrew Barnes; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  A very special aunt and uncle, Leroy and Betty Williams; a special nephew, Ivan Wright, Jr., special friends, Henrietta Williams; Rosie Long; Annabelle Broadus, Catherine Ross, Bettye Belle, Betty Harvey, Elke Thiel, Viola Gholar, many adopted sons and daughters and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Hazel Williams Wright; brother, Carlton Wright; grandson, Mark Hudson; granddaughter, KaSondra Smith and great-grandson, Luke Burrough, Jr.

Cynthia's family would like to thank Catrina Blevins, RN, Bonnie Young, RN and Marjorie Adamson, CNA for the excellent care that was provided. 

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 N. Macedonia Ave, Muncie, with Pastor Robert Scaife officiating. 

Calling hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the church.  Burial will be in Gardens of Memory cemetery.

I occasionally worked with Cynthia at Ball Corporation and looked forward to seeing her at Muncie Central basketball games in later years. She always had a smile on her face, and I know she'll be missed by her family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
