Michael Arndt

Arndt Michael Arndt, 64, of Loudonville, died Thursday evening, December 22, 2016 in Pomerene Hospital Emergency Room in Millersburg. Michael was born on March 5, 1952 in Warren and was one of four children of Willard C. and Janice M. McAninch Arndt. He was a 1970 graduate of Champion High School in Warren and lived and worked in Columbus for 27 years before moving to the Loudonville area in 1997. He was a respiratory therapist at Mt. Carmel West Hospital for 20 years before continuing his medical career with Wooster Community Hospital for another decade, finally retiring in 2009. Michael enjoyed gardening, especially planting flowers and pine trees. He was a pet lover and for a number of years, he and his wife raised Chows. As a youth he was a member of the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Michael is survived by his wife of 41 years, Myra K. Stitzlein Arndt, whom he married on March 7, 1975; his mother, Janice Arndt of Warren; his father-in-law, William (Marvelene) Stitzlein of Loudonville; a brother, Brian J. Arndt of Windsor; a sister, Lynda (Larry) Norton of Warren; a nephew, Eric Arndt of Seattle, WA; six nieces, Laura Swank and Lana Dunlap, both of Gahanna, Dana Norton of Springfield, VA, Angela Brawdy of Cape Coral, FL, Kara Beaumont of Milwaukee, WI and Julie Mastran of Akron; one great nephew, Benjamin Dunlap; and two great nieces, Leah Dunlap and Britney Brawdy. He is preceeded in death by his father Willard C. "Bill" Arndt and a brother William David Arndt. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, at 2 p.m. in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE with Chaplain Pat Krebs, of Mt. Carmel Hospitals officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, December 27 from 12 noon-2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Loudonville Cemetery will occur at a later date.
