Gail I. Mann, age 91, of Lyons, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Swanton Health Care. Mrs. Mann had been a 5th Grade School Teacher for five years at the former Pike School and then for 24 years in the Evergreen School system in the Chesterfield and Lyons Schools.

Gail was born in Jasper, Michigan on December 13, 1922, the daughter of James and Thelma (Ayers) Stevens. On July 14, 1941 she married Eldeen Mann, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She was a graduate of Lyons High School in 1941. She earned both her Bachelors of Education and Master of Education from Siena Heights University. She was a member of the Winameg Christian Church where she also served as a elder. Gail had volunteered at Sauder Village in the School House and also loved quilting.

Surviving are her children, Joy (Carl) McLaughlin of Sand Creek, MI, James (Vicky) Mann of Nashua, Iowa and Judy (Bob) Keating of Leesburg, FL; nine grandchildren, Carl Mclaughlin, Kay McGraw, Pat McLaughlin, Kerry Pinion, Rob Keating, Melissa Mann Detwiler, Melinda Bowden, Martin Mann, and Micah Mann; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Gene Fouch and Joyce Stevens.

Visitation for Gail will be held from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Winameg Christian Church, where the funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Floyd Vincent, officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyons Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Winameg Christian Church, Gentiva Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
