Matthew AINSWORTH Obituary

AINSWORTH Matthew Charles Matthew Charles Ainsworth was born on April 30, 1989 in Toledo, Ohio, and died unexpectedly on March 26, 2011 while attending Villanova University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Matthew was the beloved son of Anne-Marie (Nachtrab) Ainsworth and Thomas Jay Ainsworth. He was the loving brother of Thomas William Ainsworth; Erin Marie Boes and her husband, Steven, and Daniel Joseph Ainsworth. Matthew also leaves behind his grandparents, William and Jane Nachtrab, and Marge Ainsworth, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. "Matthew" means "gift from God", and he was truly that: a gift from God to all of us. He was the joy of the family and will be dearly missed. Matthew graduated from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, Texas in 2008. He then went on to Villanova University, where he was a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, French Club, Engineering PEERS, Club Sailing, Ambassadors, and the Honor Society for Chemical Engineering. He planned to graduate in 2012 with a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and French. He had a passion for travel and simply lived life to the fullest. If an opportunity presented itself to travel to Europe, and especially to his beloved France, he took it. He had a talent for art, an unmatched sense of style, and was a self-taught chef who dazzled dinner party guests. He had great expectations for himself and was well on the way toward achieving them. The viewing will take place at Walker Funeral Home at 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue (west of Corey Rd.) in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, March 31, from 4 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, April 1, at 12 noon at Christ the King Church in Toledo, Ohio, followed by his burial at Toledo Memorial in Sylvania, Ohio. A memorial service for Matthew was held at St. Thomas Church at Villanova University on Sunday, March 27 at 8 p.m. There will also be a memorial service at Strake Jesuit in Houston on Saturday, April 9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matthew's memory to Villanova University. Condolences may be shared with the family at: www.walkerfuneralhomes.com

Dear Ainsworth Family,

I miss Matt every day. He was truly a wonderful spirit that was full of life, dreams and infectious laughter. Thinking about him now (and every time I think of him) I hear his merry giggles and see his wide grin. It makes me so sad, but also makes me smile because he always strove to pass his joy to those around him and in those in his life. He loved and lived the most out of the majority of people I know and I will always admire that about him. When I start to get sad about how his life was cut too short and all the thing he will never get to do I know that he's in a better place. He's probably thinking, "Maggie, don't cry! Now I get to travel anywhere I want and I've met the most interesting people here. I can't wait to introduce you too all of my new friends... you're going to LOVE them!"

Even though he isn't with us anymore I feel his presence in the breeze and know that he doesn't want us to weep, but instead live our lives without him to the fullest just like he would have.

All my love
- Maggie Parsons

Dear Anne-Marie and Tom,
We are devastated over Matthew's death. We wish you could have been spared this kind of anguish, and are praying you are holding up under this kind of bitter suffering. Matthew was such a fine, exceptional, special young man. Matthew was a beautiful human being. His goodness shined forth. The superb parenting and nurturing he received from both of you was obvious to everyone who knew Matthew. You will see him again face to face when you join him where he is now--dwelling in perfect peace and happiness with Christ. Love, Carol and John in Houston Texas

Dear Anne Marie,

There isn't a minute gone by since Clark called us last Saturday, that I have not thought of Matthew.
His smile, his beautiful eyes, his politeness, his abundantly likable personality swirl in my mind as I remember your dear son.
Each time I spent time with Matthew, Kenny and Clark, I saw three great friends, enjoying college and their apartment life together.
There are no words to describe my sadness for you, and can only pray that you find comfort in the fact that Matthew was loved as a true friend to these young men.
My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you Anne Marie.

Dear Anne-Marie and Family,
Our thoughts, hearts, and prayers are with you . . . we know how you loved Matthew, your precious “gift from God”. It is hard to imagine the pain and loss you are experiencing now, and we struggle to find the words that will bring you even a small amount of peace and comfort. Bob and I enjoyed catching up with you recently, chatting with you about life, how your kids had grown and blossomed; with all of us realizing just how fast time passes. Your eyes just lit up and sparkled when you talked about Matthew and how proud of him you were! It was wonderful witnessing a mother’s deep and unconditional love for her son . . . how you must miss him so. We’re sure you now have your own angel in heaven. God loves you and He loves Matthew. We will have a mass said for Matthew at St. Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands – we’ll send you a mass card soon. We’ll be in touch – know that you, your family, and Matthew are in our daily prayers.
Love and Hugs,
Therese, Bob, Christopher, Megan, Elizabeth, and Anthony Abib

Our Maggie and Matt were good friends, and Matt was at our house many times. We always loved seeing his beautiful, smiling face. As our tribute to him, I hope you don't mind that we have made his guest book permanent. Matt was one the most incredible individuals I've ever had the privilege of knowing. He was one of my closest friends at Villanova and has made such a tremendous impact on my life. I met him the 3rd day of orientation and have been his friend ever since. He and I used to bicker back and fourth over which was a better city, New York or Paris. He was so passionate about life, culture, friends, and most importantly, his family. He was such an intelligent person and always willing to share his talents with everyone around him. Whenever I struggled with my reactor engineering homework, he would sit with me and explain the material until he was positive it made sense. It saddens me to know that his desk will now be empty, as will a part of my heart. There is only one way to describe him: extraordinary. We love you and miss you.
Can't wait until we meet again in heaven. The sun was shining today and I know that it is your smile, lighting up the world.

It is impossible to put into words the impact Matt Ainsworth has had on my life. It rips me apart knowing that I am across the world and that I cannot be there to honor his memory. Ainsworth and I were pledge brothers and shared many great memories together. I remember having long talks with him about whether or not we could handle the commitments to our fraternity on top of all other obligations. It would always end with Ainsworth simply saying, “It’s whatever.” Although this doesn’t sound like much, it shows how he lived his life- never taking things too seriously and making people around him feel better. He taught me to always take a step back and just relax; life is too short to worry about things. We always tried to live by the corny saying “work hard, play hard” and we sure did. Ainsworth was an amazing brother and an even better friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and my other fraternity brothers. We love you Ainsworth.
