Mario Capotosto Obituary
Mario Capotosto passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018 at age 91. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Domnick and Carmela Capotosto.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Arriving home, he worked as a graphic arts color artist. He also earned his pilot's license and owned his own plane. He was known for his generosity and sense of humor. Mario was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Theresa Avilia in Salem, IL, where he lived with his wife, Connie, for 14 years.
Surviving are sons, Michael (Virginia) and John; daughter-in-law, Betsy; grandchildren, Nicholas (Abby), Joseph (Emily), Jacob (Skyler), Anthony, Christopher (Amber), Elizabeth (Ryan); three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Josephine and Rosemarie (Bernard). He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; parents; son, Thomas; granddaughter, Ashley; siblings, Nellie, Gena, Angelo, and Richard.
Funeral Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. with Funeral Mass at 11. Memorial Contributions may be forwarded to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2255 Central Grove Ave., Toledo, Ohio. Arrangements by Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee. Dear Michael, Virginia, Betsy and families,
I have such fond memories of when Uncle Marion, Aunt Connie, you, and your brothers would come to Akron to visit. When I think of Uncle Marion and Aunt Connie, I think of warm smiles, hugs, and laughing. (I can't believe how much Uncle Marion looks like Granddad!)
I live in Nashville now, and will not be able to make it on Saturday. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
