Donald was born on November 26, 1936 and passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017. Donald was a resident of Newport, Rhode Island at the time of his passing. He received his primary and secondary education in the Plymouth public schools, and he was a graduate of Northeastern University and Rhode Island College. He enjoyed a position teaching American military children at Vilseck Army Base in Bavaria, Germany. He was married to Diane Bucci. The celebration of life will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Philip Hulitar Hospice Center (www.hopehospiceri.org) and The Jimmy Fund (www.jimmyfund.org).

Dear family,

Donald Vacchi was an exceptional person in so many ways. I will always remember him for his kindness, optimism, generosity and wisdom as an educational leader at Portsmouth Middle School when I taught there in the 70's.
