Mr. Gilbert J. P. Farris, Jr.

Mr. Gilbert J. P. Farris, Jr., 68, of Poulan died Friday September 19, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Farris was born on April 1, 1946 in Sparta, TN., to the late Gilbert J. P. Farris, Sr. and Rosetta Davis Farris. He had lived in Poulan for the past 32 years and had served in the United States Army. Mr. Farris was formerly employed with Watkins Construction Company as a Millwright worker. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Mr. Farris was of the Methodist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Linda Cross Farris of Poulan; sons, Derek Shufelt of Sylvester and David Shufelt of Albany; grandchildren, Jacob Shufelt, Katie Shufelt, Christopher Shufelt and Hannah Shufelt; great-grandchild, Levi Shufelt. Mr. Farris was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
