Rose Kosmowski Obituary

Published by D'Anjolell Stigale Memorial Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of Aston on Sep. 29, 2021.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Rose Kosmowski announces her peaceful passing on September 29, 2021 at the age of 86 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Sylvia (Hal) Wagner, Ed, and Joann (Matt) DiDavide; grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas, Anthony, Alessia, and Adrianna; and great-grandchild, Michael; brother: John (Charlotte) DiDomenico; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will also be dearly missed by her neighbors at St. James Place. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband, Ed; brothers: Willie (Rita) Salvia, Fred (Jenny) Salvia, and Larry Salvia; sisters: Angie (Jim) Higgins and Gloria (Tom) Ragucci; and her parents: Silvia and Luigi DiDomenico. Rose was born in Southwest Philadelphia and lived much of her life there. Those who knew Rose will remember her as outgoing and social with a quirky sense of humor. Those who knew her well, know she could also be feisty. A trait that dates back to when Rose was dismissed from West Catholic, later graduating from Bartram High School. A fact she never happened to mention to her daughter Sylvia, who followed in her footsteps. A life-long Phillies fan, Rose also enjoyed watching football, rooting for the Eagles and Penn State. As a child she enjoyed shooting marbles, roller skating, and riding her wooden scooter, and her favorite meal was spaghetti and meatballs. In her teenage years she enjoyed asking questions about the future and chatting with ghosts on her Ouija board as well as sitting on the steps and talking with her friends. Rose was always approachable and easy to converse with. Later in life, she most enjoyed her time at the shore, specifically her years in Wildwood with her children and later going to the casinos to play her Double Diamond slot machines. She was most proud of her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rose's culinary specialties included her gravy, meatballs, and lasagna . . . honestly her only culinary specialties were her gravy, meatballs, and lasagna. Mom, we dearly love you, but cooking wasn't your forte. Dinners became remarkably better once our father retired and took over the cooking duties. Speaking of Dad, he was the love of Mom's life, but there were other men too. Sorry to mention this Dad, but Mom also loved Elvis Presley and Barry Manilow. She enjoyed listening to their music and watching their concerts, and just about wore-out her DVD copy of Barry Manilow's Vegas show, Music and Passion. Rosie was outgoing and energetic until her final year when her failing health began to slow her down. Until the end her mind was sharp, but unfortunately her body simply wore out. It was time to meet her maker and be reunited with her husband and family. Rose passed peacefully in her sleep. Rose wanted to be remembered as friendly and funny. Reflections she wanted to pass along are: be patient, understanding, and kind; don't sweat the little things; and most of all, be happy. We are proud to have had Rose as our mother. She will forever be in our hearts. At Rose's request, there will be no visitation and the burial will be a private ceremony. Those wishing to make a Memorial Donation may do so in Rose's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Her family is also considering establishing a Go-Fund-Me account for Harrah's Casino, as they anticipate Harrah's is about to experience a significant drop in slot machine revenue.
