1952 - 2008
Richard "Rick" Robin Ranallo, 56, surrounded by family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2008, after a valiant battle with lung cancer.
Rick was a longtime resident of Ventura County, graduating from Newbury Park High School in 1969. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked for numerous years in the construction industry as an underground construction specialist, where he acted as a friend and mentor to many of his co-workers.
Rick was loved by all who knew him. He was a hardworking man of great integrity and loyalty. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who would never hesitate to help a person in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rick is survived by his wife, Colette Ranallo; son, Jerod Ranallo (wife Kelly); grandsons, Dylan and Brady; daughter, Darcie Ranallo; stepdaughter, Bevin Berube (husband Chris); brother Anthony Ranallo; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Ranallo; mother, Johanna Ranallo; and brother Robert Ranallo.
A service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in Newbury Park, with a reception to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Cancer Alliance, P.O. Box 630972, Baltimore, MD 21263-0972.
