I still remember the fond memories of a boy who moved down the street from me in Knights Ferry, a small rural historic community.I was so excited that summer to have a new friend. A boy named Joey, with an infectious smile and a loving personality. We were fast friends and before long ,my closest friend. We were only in each others lives for a short while but I will never forget the loyal compassionate caring friend that was always there for me through the ugly cries to the many care free fun adventures. I will never forget you teaching me how to drive in your big huge truck on the back roads of knights ferry and ditching school so you could teach me how to pheasant hunt for the first time...thank you Joey for being that friend so many years ago. My prayers go out to your family along with my deepest condolences. ..may your soul rest in peace until we meet again my friend.. and I pray my mansion in heaven is just down the road from yours once again...

My heart is bleeding for the pain and empty feeling death brings. It is never easy to lose someone in our lives. I know for sure not your child. There is no cure for that pain except to know that they are still with you. I was so blessed to have known such a sweet, happy and easy going person like Joey. He always made my day better without even trying. Its not often enough you meet someone that brings life like he did, thanks Joey Combs you will always be in my heart. May you rest in peace. Please watch over your momma while you are up there k, xoxo till we meet again. Oh and give my son Bryan a hug for me. Love your pre made auntie Loo

You will be missed, Joey. Your joy, enthusiasm for fishing, softball, and all the things we enjoyed sharing with you is how you will be remembered in our hearts. May the wind always be at your back, the sun on your wonderful smiling face, and the road rise to meet you as you journey along in new adventures in the "great perhaps".

I will always Love you Joey. I will never forget the time we shared and all the memories we created. Although losing you too soon, I will find strength in this loss, to stay on my reclaimed journey of recovery. You wanted that so much for the both of us. I will stay strong not only myself, Kevin and Ricky, but for you my Love. I will never forget Softball, Fishing Trips, family gatherings, Poker Tournaments, our little girl "trixxie" and many other great memories of the years we shared. Fly with the Angels Joey.

I have had the honor of knowing joey my whole life, since elementary school in modesto. Lost contact but we would see each other once in awhile. Then in 1997 i moved down south with my parents. I was so thrilled that i would be just 2 hours away from ventura and one of my dearest friends. After we got settled joey came to grover beach took me to ventura to show me around. Next thing you know i have a job and we were in a relationship. Joey was a kind hearted loving man. My family is overwhelmed with sadness and just can't wrap my head around the fact he is gone. My deepest condolences to dianne, jonathon, jeff, misty and extended family and friends you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you
