James Alexander McWhorter, Jr. "Jim" (Age 84)
Of Strasburg, VA passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Blue Ridge Hospice In-Patience Care Center, Winchester, VA. A funeral service for Mr. McWhorter will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dan Locke officiating. A graveside service for Mr. McWhorter will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Saint George Cemetery in Valley Lee, Maryland with Father Greg Syler officiating. Submit condolences to the family at www.stoverfuneralhome.com Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg, VA is serving the family of Mr. McWhorter.

I have to wonder if somewhere out there on the other side Jim is still stirring things up. He had so much energy. It's amazing he didn't outlive all of us. He was a great neighbor and friend. r.i.p. Jim

Dating on weekends as an older teen, Jim was fun to be with, always courteous, loyal to his buddies, and so grateful to have friends when he was faraway from home. All those cadets were lonely and greatly appreciated a home-cooked meal now and then.
