GERALD BERKIN Obituary
Gerald Berkin
Gerald Berkin, 91, born on July 20, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on March 31, 2021 in Ashburn, Virginia. Son of Annie and Jack Berkin, brother of Aubrey Berkin, and husband of Harriet Berkin, who all predeceased him. Gerald graduated from Brooklyn College in 1952. After service with the 902nd Military Intelligence Group, Gerald worked as Director Of Security for Investors Overseas Services, in Geneva, Switzerland before re-entering government service to take Security Director roles in various agencies. He retired from the General Accounting Office in 1991. In retirement, Gerald published several books of short stories through Amazon Kindle. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and life member of Sinim Lodge, A. F. & A. M., Tokyo, Japan. Survived by his son, Jeffrey Berkin (Stephanie) and grandson, Andrew Berkin, and by his daughter, Terrie Lee McConnell and her daughters, Jessica McConnell and Emily Helms. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Money & King. My deepest heartfelt condolences over the passing of Mr. & Mrs. Berkin. They had known my mom and dad since their days of living in Japan. I was so incredibly blessed to have known them myself. Mr. & Mrs. Berkin always made me feel like family. I loved them both very much. They have been reunited in heaven with my mom & dad. No doubt, they are telling stories about all of us. They will be greatly missed. Wish I could have come to pay my respects to both of them. My heart goes out to the family. Whenever I saw them, they always made me laugh. I pray that Mr. & Mrs. Berkin are resting peacefully. Semper Fi. God speed.
