JACK ROBERT DRAGO (Age 71)

Of Alexandria, VA, died April 7, 2022 from Glioblastoma. He was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late John and Alice (Cornett) Drago.



Due to his father's employment, Jack attended 13 different schools before graduating from Baton Rouge High School. He especially enjoyed a school year at Geelong Grammar School in Australia.



He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a major in Communications before joining the USN in 1974, serving as a Photographers Mate in San Diego and Guam. At the University of Kentucky, he earned a Masters Degree from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce in 1982.



Jack was employed by the US Census Bureau for 35 years before retiring in 2017 as a Supervisory Survey Statistician. He was active in the CBWRA serving on the board, managing the fruit sale in December and was in charge of equipment rental. Additionally, he was captain of the softball team and played volleyball.



He was proud of his West Virginia heritage. In 1996, he purchased property and designed a cabin in Franklin, WV where he pursed hobbies of target shooting and photography.



Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Christianne; step-mother Ria Drago van Hest of Breskins, The Netherlands; sisters Dana Rexroad (Joe) of Sierra Vista, AZ and Joanie Drago of NYC; brother Frank (Kealy) Drago of Louisville, KY; aunt Letty Lincoln; cousins Tony and Becky Drago, Will Lincoln, and Mariah Hencke.



Per Jack's wishes, there will be no service. He requested a party with the Rolling Stones playing loudly and lots of beer. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Johns Hopkins University Brain Research or Capital Caring. Jack and Christi appreciated the excellent care he received from Virginia Cancer Specialists with special thanks to Dr. Dipti Patel-Donnelly.
