We were saddened to learn of the passing of Marie and Jerry Green and I and on behalf of my family wish to extend our sincere condolences to Karen, Paul and their children. Marie and Jerry were our next door neighbors in Bethesda for many years. Also, little did we know early on that Jerry and Marie and I were students at Brooklyn College about the same time and yet never met there. Also my late wife Sondra would consult with Marie and Jerry from time to time on various health and other issues. I and on behalf of my family extend our deepest sympathies.

On behalf of the membership of the Commissioned Officers Association of the US Public Health Service, I am writing to offer my condolences and gratitude for the years spent in public service by RADM Green and Dr. Marie Green. While I never had the opportunity to meet them personally, I was touched and profoundly impressed by their decades of service to the American public. To the family, COA would like to honor RADM Green in our monthly newsletter. Please reach out to me as the Executive Director at [email protected] if you have anything additional you would like to share.
