Neil Elliott Obituary
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Neil came to California as a youth and graduated from UCLA. He became interested in advertising soon out of college and wrote advertising copy for many large advertising agencies before opening his agency in Los Angeles.
After several years he was offered a position as a spokesperson on television for Apex Technical School in New York, flying back and forth every month. He became well known as 'Mr. Apex Man.'
Because of his frequent flying, he and his wife of 65 years, Amy, traveled to many foreign countries.
Neil and Amy spent their early years together sailing their small boats, making many trips to Catalina. When they started their family, they substituted horses for sailboats – the reason they moved to Willits in 1986 – more room for their horses.
Neil is survived by his wife, Amy, and their children: Paul (Mary) and Dan (Anita) Elliott; Grandchildren: Morgan, Franklin, Benjamin Elliott; Maggie (Ville) Vilponnen; Erik (Sarah) Gijon; Amy (Richard) Ortiz; Brian (Gina) Barth; Eric (Wendy) Barth; Holly and Heather O'Neil; Great-grandchildren: Dylan (Bryanna) Gijon; Nikolai Vilponnen, Rosie O'Neil, Nathan and Andrew Barth, and Elia and Annalise Barth.
Private Memorial Services will be held in the Family Home.
Arrangements under the care of Anker-Lucier Mortuary.

I just came across this obituary today, so I want to extend my belated condolences to Mr. Elliott's family and loved ones.
I only knew Mr. Elliott through his TV commericals for Apex Technical Institute in New York. Growing up in the NYC area, his commercials made a great impression on me. In fact, I still today sometimes reference the Apex Tech guy's famous tag line- "I can't call you; you have to pick up the phone and call me."
May he rest in peace.
