On behalf of the staff, faculty and students of the US Army War College and Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, where we are honored to serve with Dr. Shue's son-in-law, Dr. Leonard Wong, I extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. Shue's Family. He clearly was a pillar of the York and Central PA community and we are proud to claim him as a US Army Combat Veteran of Vietnam. We grieve with you.

I was quite sad to learn of the Shue family's sudden loss. It was just last month that I enjoyed a convivial dinner with Dr. and Mrs. Shue on Nantucket. That evening he was full of his usual energy, aspirations and indeed life. His love of learning was perhaps only surpassed by his love for his family. I know he will be sorely missed.

Dear Shue family:
Having worked with Dr. Shue for many years at York Hospital, I seldom saw him without a smile. He was a willing teacher and a good natured gentleman. May your memories see you through difficult times, as well as your faith and friends. He'll surely be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to you all.
