Fredric Malmberg Obituary

Fredric A. Malmberg
October 18, 1954 - October 29, 2017
York
Fredric Arne Malmberg, 63, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at his home in York.
"Dr. Fred" was born on October 18, 1954, in Boyertown, to Lois E. (Summers) and Richard L. Malmberg. He practiced Podiatry in York for over 30 years. In his free time he excelled at a variety of pursuits, including wood carving, and was highly regarded around the world for his fine boomerang craftsmanship. He was an avid table tennis player, and a formidable chess player. He loved his dogs, and could often be found taking a walk, cracking a joke, or combing local auctions in search of a deal.
He is survived by his children, whom he loved dearly, Marc Malmberg, of Baltimore, Christopher and wife, Michelle Malmberg, of York, and Holly Malmberg, of York; his brothers, Kurt Malmberg, of Greshville, and Leif Malmberg, of Boyertown; his former wife, Gayle Brinchman; a granddaughter, Vaida Duke, of York; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life event will be held in York, for friends and family to gather and share memories of Dr. Fred. Contact [email protected] for further details.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Fredric's name to LifePath Christian Ministries (formerly the York Rescue Mission).

Fred was a great guy! I am very sad to hear of his passing. I played ping pong with Fred in the 80's and 90's. The York Table Tennis Club was small, and we probably played hundreds of matches over those years. He was a great competitor, and yet always looking to find the funny side of things. A very charismatic combination. I always considered him kind of a renaissance man. Wish I could play him one more time- Dave Corbett

Fred was a dear friend, not the kind that I would talk to on a regular basis but the kind you knew was always thinking of you, and you knew would always be there for you. He was smart ( and would tell you that ) , always had a great sense of humor, always ready to try something new or challenging. I knew how much he valued his friends and loved his family! I even shared the same birthday with him, Oct 18 th and always felt he was a lifelong friend- you know a true friend no matter what. I have many great memories of time spent with Fred and his family- Life was too short but I know he always tried to make the best of everything, Heaven is a better place now- Will miss you very much Freddy !

I had 4 good years with Fred. My roommate at ICPM was Rich Boccio DPM, MD. Fred was always hanging out at our place. Best thoughts to family. Dr. John Malley 81 ICPM
