Greg Bryant (1994 - 2016), University of Alabama running back
Greg Bryant, a promising football running back with the University of Alabama at Birmingham, died May 8 in the wake of a shooting in south Florida, according to multiple news sources He was 21. Bryant, who first played football for the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, was found shot along with a passenger in a car on Interstate 95 early May 7 near Delray Beach, Florida, police told the Palm Beach Post. While the passenger, Maurice Grover, had only minor injuries, Bryant was hospitalized in critical condition. Police are investigating the death as a homicide. Bryant was the most prominent player on the school's inaugural recruiting roster since UAB relaunched its football program.
