Kenneth Jandt Obituary

Ken was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on March 29, 1939. On May 11, 1960, he married Nancy. Ken is survived by his wife of 65 years, his daughter, Kristin Landrum and her husband Kelly and their two children daughter Abigail Gabbard and her husband Zach and their son Wesley and Kristins and Kelly's son Jacob. Ken and Nancy's son Kevin and his wife Jennifer and their children Grace, Madeline, Lydia and Anna. Ken and Nancy's first son, Michael passed away April 7, 1961. Ken was employed by National Food Store and rapidly became a manager. He was transferred to Rochester Minnesota to manage their grocery store. Ken was drafted into the army in 1963 and was enlisted as a Dog Handler in Ft Gordon Georgia. He then was transferred to the Nike Hercules Missile Site in Milwaukee Wisconsin where he served with his beloved dog for two years guarding the site. Upon leaving the service he returned to Rochester Minnesota to manage the National Food Store. In 1966 Ken and Nancy returned to La Crosse where Ken became a Police Office and served there for 12 years. In 1979 Ken and Nancy moved to Davenport Iowa where Ken became owner of the Country Kitchen Restaurant. Ken and Nancy owned and managed the restaurant there for 32 years and opened another restaurant in Muscatine Iowa. Ken and Nancy retired to Mesa, Arizona and became residents of Sunland Village where Ken took on a new hobby, he bought and sold golf carts. Ken and Nancy loved to travel and with their relationship to the Country Kitchen Corporation they traveled to conventions throughout the United States to Hawaii and the Caribbean. When their daughter, Kris and her husband Kelly moved to Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore Ken and Nancy made numerous trips to visit them and sight see the area. Ken was liked and well respected as a man with integrity. When he laid aside his hobby of dealing with golf carts, Ken continued to keep relationships with the people he had helped over the years. He was often seen riding his bicycle two times a day around the golf course always looking for golf balls in the street and on yards. Ken will be remembered by his soft voice, his warm smile and his always pleasant and understanding disposition.
